A Night Alone

From an early age, constraints are placed on women. They are expected to act a certain way to avoid dangerous people while simultaneously attracting a partner; they are expected to operate as strong and independent while the government eagerly controls their body. For women, the world is a truly frightening place. Even in the sanctuary of their own homes, they must provide for their own security and safety.

Shining the light on this silent struggle and spotlighting the unseen courage behind closed doors, my body of work , A Night Alone, reflects my personal experience of living alone. Without another person in my home, the only one to pull me from the depths of nightly anxiety is myself. This narrative is a personal account of a story shared by so many others in the world who live in constant fear of being the victim of nefarious characters.
